Let me show you

According to Susan Sontang's 'On Photography,' "Photographs furnish evidence. Something we hear about, but doubt, seems proven when we're shown a photograph of it."
I work at an assisted living home. Maurice, a resident who lives there, is diagnosed with the early signs of Dementia. He has the ability to tell you the exact dates songs from the 80s were released, school you on details of World War I, and even recite lines from his favorite black and white movies. However, he doesn't have the slightest clue as to what he did earlier in the day. This was not initially taken as evidence but it was later used as such. Maurice claimed that he went to the dining hall at 5:30pm when, in fact, he went at 6:00pm. A show of this photograph and the time it was taken was able to prove that he was sleeping at that time.
