For my final project I wanted to focus on something I had a hard time deciding on for myself, For a while I was set on doing computer science as a major and doing art as something on the side but I never really felt happy with the choice mainly because I disliked math and was never good at it but was good in the coding classes. I felt the need to continue to force myself into doing the classes for it because I didn't want my family to worry about my future and in a way felt pressured to continue down that path and I wasn't really happy with anything I was doing or myself for a while and it
kept getting worse until I wasn't able to handle it and had to stop taking computer science this semester and decided to focus on majoring in art more simply because it has always been my passion from the start ever since I was young. Art wise I was greatly inspired by anime and cartoons I have watched and even games I have played which made me want to pursue a career that either lets me focus on drawing, video games or comics.
For my project I made a game, something that I have an interest in but instead of making the map a usual pixelated backgrounds for a rpg game I decided to mix digital art and traditional art with some cut outs of objects in my room such as the candles and stuff to make the maps more interesting. I took a lot of inspiration from the animation group Gekidan Inu curry which is made up of two artists known as Doroinu and 2shiroinu. The two of them focuses on making art that kinda looks like cut outs and mixed media like and make very interesting animations and backgrounds in their works.
My game focuses on making decisions on whether to continue to doubt your own feelings and. desires in life or embrace them and pursue what you like.
